Big jumpers should be on your shopping list people. Whilst the weather is still warm, wear them as a dress or with a mini skirt and bare legs. Later wear them over midi skirts or trousers. Here’s the inspiration….
Stella McCartney, Miu Miu and Jonathan Saunders A/W 2014. Images thanks to Vogue UK.
And here is the high street…
Marks and Spencer Speziale Kimono jumper is first up, £129. It has a course knit and would look great with an A-line skirt and a chunky scarf. The next one is from Mango and is slouchier than the image shows, £34.99. And finally, Cos, this is a great knitted dress but could easily be layers as a jumper £79.
Buy them big and hope for a nip in the air like these early adopters!
On my way to the Cinema in Esher yesterday I couldn’t help but notice new season displays in the boutiques windows. I craned my head to see as my children pulled me on to get to the movie in time.
An hour or two later I was happily trying on boots whilst my children’s heads were still buzzing with scenes from Brave.
These Stella McCartney boots £590 from Bernards are eye-catching.
And these Manas boots from Okeefe are great, the higher heeled Trochetto boot is my favourite, £168. The lower heeled Polacco boot is £125 and is great for an everyday run around shoe.
But these were the boots that got my wallet out of my handbag.
Lovely Opening Ceremony Dylan ankle boot. £235 from Bernards.
And hit the mid-season sales, I swear I just saw a break in those rain clouds.
Any of these fab sale bargains would look great with this thrifty New Look dress.
Can you actually wear pyjama’s to work the ‘pyjama’ trend?
I mean, surely you can..
No? Just a thought.
Really lovely stuff from Stella McCartney this morning. Preppy with a sport-luxe edge. I loved the bright electric blue.
I love these shoes and I will definitely stretch my budget to buy these this Autumn. I am not sure about this look below though….
although never say never, as they say.
At least for Friday night, and grab yourself a skirt. Here are my current faves.
Ok so it is a bit of an investment piece but you could certainly see this still looking current in the Autumn. If like me it is a bit of a stretch lets look for something more pocket friendly.
This is a great skirt, the length is perfect as knee length and midi skirts have taken over from the mini in our affections. I hate how they have styled it for this shot. You could put on a buttoned up and tucked in denim shirt with this. Or mix your prints with a patterned tee.
A stripe may be a nice change from all the girly prints around, two different price brackets with these two but very similar looks. Hobbs fabrics always look and feel more expensive than they are.
Many of the handbags that we saw on the Spring/Summer runways were animal or reptile hide. The amazing eye-popping colours we saw make these bags real statement pieces. I am mostly in love with the bright yellow offerings. Elie Saab had models clutching ladylike bags in yellow, and Jimmy Choo had an amazing hold-all size bag with a yellow croc panel. Trussadi had a shoulder bag in bright blue that would look lovely paired with the Jimmy Choo wedges I featured in yesterday’s blog.
The inspiration it seems was 1970’s sports wear. Sports-luxe is a big story for SS12. Stella McCartney stands out and also Isabel Marant.
I am not sure I will be wearing these outfits down at my gym, but if like me you workout a few times a week then why not make a change from the usual joggies.
You wouldn’t mind grabbing an after-run coffee in this outfit from Sweaty Betty. Running tights and vest together cost around £125. Talking of running, I am late for the gym.
Well this morning had me reaching for my fur deerstalker hat, tweed coat and snood! The fur hat was perfect as I was so tired after a late night in front of the computer, I forgot to rinse out the hair conditioner in the shower! I could now do with an afternoon nap before Champagne Friday kicks off. Well pyjama chic was the inspiration for Stella McCartney’s silk trouser suits….
I’m not sure my husbands old t-shirt and a pair of joggies will have the same appeal. Not even if I team them with Charlotte Olympia’s fab Kitty Slippers.
