New-in v Sales

Ted Baker pleated maxi skirt £169

I get all excited when I see a ‘New in’ button. And when I clicked it this morning look what I found. That fab Ted Baker skirt. Beautiful print and colour.

dark orange dress £159

A strange choice for me this dress as it seems overtly sexy. However I think the colour is great, play around with belts and consider layering blouses underneath. I left Ted Baker and scanned through Marks and Spencer.

Yellow skirt £29.50

I love that skirt, I hate it with those sandals though!

Dress £55

Wow, very like a Peter Pilotto dress I have seen. Put that straight in the basket!

Equally as fun is trying to find magic pieces in the sale.

Peplum skirt £15

What a fab little skirt! This following dress is very cool. But it definitely needs a belt. A dark blue wide weaved belt would be ideal, then I can see this dress working until 2013.

So, which are you tempted to buy?

Green Day

0

My love of the colour yellow that occurred around February has been overtaken by a love of green. It seems to be a natural progression. I am not sure when exactly it happened but it may be due, in part, to the lovely images from Carolina Herrera SS12 Ready-to-Wear.

My search for the perfect green dress for a ball I am going to this summer is underway. Here are a few hopefuls. What do you think?

Issa dress £490

Marks and Spencer £39.50

Peter Pilotto £950

I love the Peter Pilotto dress but I suspect that may be too much a splurge for me. The Marks and Spencer dress is definitely not fit for a ball, but I probably will get it for my summer holiday. The Issa dress is great, but 500 notes? hmm. In this economic climate I have to be sure.

MaxMara £295

Much better! Ok you have to use your imagination a little as it is a very dull photo.

Whistles £150

I love this, it has that eye pop of green and I think this is probably the one I will go for. Those fab Charlotte Olympia shoes I blogged about the other day are ideal.

Put away those skinnies

At least for Friday night, and grab yourself a skirt. Here are my current faves.

Peter Pilotto £584

Ok so it is a bit of an investment piece but you could certainly see this still looking current in the Autumn. If like me it is a bit of a stretch lets look for something more pocket friendly.

Whistles £110

This is a great skirt, the length is perfect as knee length and midi skirts have taken over from the mini in our affections. I hate how they have styled it for this shot. You could put on a buttoned up and tucked in denim shirt with this. Or mix your prints with a patterned tee.

Stella McCartney £645

Hobbs £89

A stripe may be a nice change from all the girly prints around, two different price brackets with these two but very similar looks. Hobbs fabrics always look and feel more expensive than they are.

Catching up on yesterday

0

My day was spent with the lovely Janine from O’Keefe in Esher yesterday. She allowed me to accompany her on a couple of buying appointments. It was so interesting to see the Autumn Winter collections that boutiques and department stores are buying whilst in the middle of fashion week.

As a consequence I didn’t get around to posting on yesterday’s amazing shows.

Christopher Kane’s show had dropped waists and more pretty prints. The colours were berry-toned I thought and very wearable.

Interesting neckline’s with cut-out’s were seen here and at Peter Pilotto.

Again knee-length dresses and titanium colours.

Beautiful muted browns with flashes of mustard at Burberry Prorsum.

Lovely! Let’s see what today holds.
