On my way to the Cinema in Esher yesterday I couldn’t help but notice new season displays in the boutiques windows. I craned my head to see as my children pulled me on to get to the movie in time.
An hour or two later I was happily trying on boots whilst my children’s heads were still buzzing with scenes from Brave.
These Stella McCartney boots £590 from Bernards are eye-catching.
And these Manas boots from Okeefe are great, the higher heeled Trochetto boot is my favourite, £168. The lower heeled Polacco boot is £125 and is great for an everyday run around shoe.
But these were the boots that got my wallet out of my handbag.
Lovely Opening Ceremony Dylan ankle boot. £235 from Bernards.
The Collette dress from High is the longer dress and sale price is £174.40, the Marc Jacobs dress is £201.
Come on, it’s pay day this weekend!
….buy the classic items you will always need whilst the sales are on.
Let’s face it, we are always going to need a trench coat in our wardrobes.
These boots are great, in fact I saw Alexa Chung wearing something similar in New York recently. They are a great colour that works for Summer or Autumn.
A simple blazer can go with everything, from denim shorts and a tour tee to your evening dress and heels.
I always advise you spend your sale money on the items you covet but can’t easily afford at full price. In this case I am thinking about high-end jean brands. Do think about the longevity of a shape or colour though before you buy. Here are a few idea’s for you.
When buying print in the sale I recommend steering away from the obvious Spring florals and look for patterns that lend themselves to Autumn dressing but are subtle enough to work for next Spring too.
Just have a look at these jeans I found in the Donna Ida sale, amazing bargain and there is always a need for a skinny blue jean in your closet!
Good luck ladies, go shop.
Opening Ceremony are at last coming to London. A pop-up shop arrives in Covent Garden next month, before their London flagship store opens this Autumn.
With this in mind I have picked through a few of my favourite pieces available on-line.
They have some great designer collaborations which models and the fashion set love. I think the over all feel is of a high-end Urban Outfitters. The quirky and the basic classics rubbing along next to each other. I am very excited to see what stock they have in London with collaborations expected with Topshop and Proenza Schouler and Chloe Sevigny said to be available in store.
Famous for their collaborations, Levi’s, Rodarte, Chloe Sevigny to name a few. Opening Ceremony collections are urban and kooky. This is their first ever Resort collection. I love it, get me to New York.
I would team this skirt for the current climate with black tights some black brogues and a chunky knit.
Pull that hair down and put on some bright heels with this dress.
