Let’s think sunny thoughts

It seems that it is turbulent over at Nicole Farhi. In January they announced that Kelso Asset Management had bought a majority stake in the brand, but that Nicole Farhi would still be Creative Director and Niki Scordi would stay as CEO. Well that didn’t last long. This afternoon it became apparent that Niki Scordi had resigned as CEO.

The Autumn/Winter collection due out later this year is very beautiful in a quietly elegant way, so no sign of stress in the office!

However here we are looking forward to Summer so let’s hope for sunshine with the happy looking collection we saw in Spring/Summer 2012 fashion weeks.

Happy happy!!

Today I am wearing…

…plum Monkee Genes Jeans and a Maison Scotch jacket on a sunny day in London Town.

Massimo Dutti basket weave brogues,

Farhi pink jumper, up-cycled necklace and Massimo Dutti scarf.

January sales

Generally I avoid the January sales. Sounds strange really considering I love shopping. It seems that after Christmas all the beautifully sparkly and enticing shops are replaced by dull and depressing jumble sales. All of this is made more frustrating by the fact that all the magazine’s are full of ‘New Season-ness’!

Colour is everywhere for Spring/Summer 2012. From Marc Cain bright suits to Louis Vuitton fifties inspired ensembles. So when I was walking around Esher High Street this week in my Autumn grey I couldn’t resist this fab Farhi jumper.

It is perfect to add a touch of Spring to my wardrobe and at the same time keeping me warm! That’s what I love about small boutiques, you get a genuine sale not mountains of old stock brought back out from the last sale. Originally £155, but mine for £77.50!

I guess the thing with sales is to not go mad buying stuff you wouldn’t have bought at full price, but actually to spend time thinking about the next seasons colours and shapes so that you can really bag a bargain.
