To get the look, buy these…..
Ok girls it’s time to stop comfort eating our way through this awful summer, because the waist is going to be main focus for Autumn. As I dip my biscuit into my hot coffee I spot the most amazing belts that can update my simple shift dresses.
Both of these belts are from Mango priced at £42.99. Not only over my shift dresses and tube dresses, I could also wear these over my navy trench coat.
How cute is this bow belt, only £3.99(!) from New Look.
And this one is only £6.99 also from New Look. You see style doesn’t have to be expensive!
The Pre-Fall collections are out, I can’t believe it’s that time already. I must admit the weather lends itself perfectly for it!
My inspiration today is the Dior Pre- Ready-to-Wear. I love it, the monochrome dressing has that cool mod vibe and the dusty colours seem a perfect evolution from the pastels of Spring.
Here are few High Street alternatives for us mere mortals!
And then there were the brights, the bold orange and the ‘Cadbury purple’!
Remove these jeans and add a midi skirt.
Wear a sweater with a skater skirt or dress.
What do you think?
My usual Monday morning routine is to head over to the gym first thing before work. I spent the weekend lazing around in my Mum’s garden and you would think my body would be so rested that my workout would be easy. Not so. Despite the air-con and the fan directed straight at me whilst running on the treadmill, it still felt like really hard work. So to stop myself from thinking about the run I tuned into one of the MTV screens. It was the ‘Class of…’ program and today it was 1985. I was firstly cringing at Elaine Paige and Barbara Dixon’s hair, and then transfixed by the youthful and beautiful Madonna dancing all over the screen (already I had forgotten that I was running).
That is when I spotted the similarity between her look back then and the current fashion season. So this week my muse is the 1980’s Madonna.
It is a very grainy image but she is actually wearing neon green socks under yellow high heeled sandals!
A huge saving on this dress, 80% off in fact!
If only I looked as fresh faced as I did back then!
And hit the mid-season sales, I swear I just saw a break in those rain clouds.
Any of these fab sale bargains would look great with this thrifty New Look dress.
A trend that I have noticed coming through in the Spring/Summer collection is the weave. Whether we are talking yarn or basket weave the home-spun look is having a fashion moment. When out shopping with a client last week I spotted a few interesting things on the High Street.
These are fab little shoes from Jones the Bootmaker and would look great with some ankle length skinny pastel jeans.
And these from Massimo Dutti are lovely…..
This dress from Jigsaw has a basket weave print!
With Alexa Chung and Lana Del Rey gracing the fash-mag covers this month in either Vuitton or Valentino you can hardly have missed the current crush we have on lace and broderie-anglaise.
A great little find at New Look – just change the belt!
Trust Topshop to have this look sussed.
