Affordable Mulberry

I remember earlier this year hearing a rumour that Mulberry were to start bringing out a more affordable range.  Well, thanks to Godfrey Davis the interim exec-chairman, here it is.

The Tessie collection.

There is no denying the countryside/equestrian influence here and I love it!

The small Tessie Satchel is a great little cross body bag. £495.

The Tessie Hobo is a timeless bag that will work hard in your wardrobe for years. £695.

My personal favourite is the Tessie Tote, I know I will use it a lot for everyday, shopping, cinema with the kids, hand luggage when travelling. £595.

I have seen the future

With the Pre Autumn/Winter stuff hitting the stores right now we are all starting to think a season ahead when out buying. However of course for the fashion world, Pre Spring/Summer 2013 is being shown. This gives us a great insight into what to buy right now that will last us a long time.

Marc Jacobs Pre Spring/Summer 2013.

It seems we are not finished with bright colours and clashing prints, so maybe we can invest a little in some of the sale items from this season.

I love these tote bags from MaxMara, sale price at Matches is £273. I just cannot decide which colour.

Bayswater £636 sale price

With the prices of Mulberry handbags being so high I usually go for a neutral colour, but maybe now is the time to be bold!

Rosie satchel Mulberry £210 sale price

This is a much more affordable bag, and very cute.

Lovely Tuesday

Today I am day-dreaming about all the lovely things I have seen since the beginning of the year.

Mulberry SS12 Ready-to-Wear

I have to stop now, this could go on and on.

I was looking for something else entirely…

when I happened upon this beautiful dress.

Cappucino dress from Reiss £225

I have been invited to a 40th in February and it has a red theme, I never wear red. So I thought I would see if I could find something affordable from the high street as I may never wear the item again.  Now obviously it isn’t red. I could add red nails and a red skinny belt, but I really don’t want to. I want to echo Mulberry’s SS12 campaign and wear it with a bright yellow or pink. I have a fab pair of Cappucino coloured Repetto heels that will work with my Christmas treat of a Mitzy Hobo handbag from Mulberry.

Oh well, keep looking..

The sun is shining

I absolutely love the Mulberry Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Straight after writing this I am going to trawl through my wardrobe to search for an acid yellow belt I bought 2 years ago from Boden. I reckon if I team it with some of my camel coloured Autumn buys from last year I can channel that look without having to spend any money!

When the fashion magazines arrive on the shelves at the beginning of every season you always feel like there is a whole new style to embrace. Actually fashion doesn’t really work like that, it’s more of an evolution. The Twenties look that featured heavily on the catwalks for Spring/Summer 2012 has descended from the cloche hats seen in stores from October 2011. We don’t need to run out to the shops and buy a whole new wardrobe each season, just tweek what we have slightly and add pieces bit by bit.
