You and who’s army?

Like these? Take a look at this.

Whistles £235.

New York fashion week has left my mind full of ‘public school chic’ and plaid, I am looking forward to seeing what London has for us this week.

I have set an alert for Holly Fulton’s show tomorrow. Her current season is amazing, not that anyone in England can wear it right now with this awful weather!

Lovely light, casual yet ladylike, I wish it would stop raining!

My old man works for an Ad agency and headed off last month to the Cannes Lion International Festival of Creativity. Sure there were some seminars and workshops, but it seemed mostly eating, drinking and hanging around on the private beaches or yachts!

He came home with an armful of gifts for the kids and a bit of duty free for me. What caught my eye in the pile of bright trinkets the kids had were a pair of red framed wayfarer sunglasses. Apparently they were freebies for those allowed on to the Google beach. I fell in love with them, much to the annoyance of my eldest child who has already started hiding her denim jacket from me. (Well, the age 11 size makes a perfect little crop jacket for me, I seriously don’t know why she can’t just share!!)

See how cute they are. Well I thought maybe I should be the adult(!) and get my own pair.

Obvious place to start would be Ray-Ban. Original Wayfarer London £135 from John Lewis.

Next up Marc Jacobs.

These blue Aviators are £85 from Selfridges.

Linda Farrow for Matthew Williamson have a great range of colourful frame sunnies, I chose these as my favourite, £240.

These cat eye sunglasses from Thierry Lasry are great, £285.

What do you think? Are you working the bright sunnies look this summer?

I pinky promise you will love these

Come on, it’s pay day this weekend!

I have seen the future

With the Pre Autumn/Winter stuff hitting the stores right now we are all starting to think a season ahead when out buying. However of course for the fashion world, Pre Spring/Summer 2013 is being shown. This gives us a great insight into what to buy right now that will last us a long time.

Marc Jacobs Pre Spring/Summer 2013.

It seems we are not finished with bright colours and clashing prints, so maybe we can invest a little in some of the sale items from this season.

I love these tote bags from MaxMara, sale price at Matches is £273. I just cannot decide which colour.

Bayswater £636 sale price

With the prices of Mulberry handbags being so high I usually go for a neutral colour, but maybe now is the time to be bold!

Rosie satchel Mulberry £210 sale price

This is a much more affordable bag, and very cute.

The story so far..

I have tried really hard not to talk about the Autumn Winter 12/13 shows that we are in the middle of as it is not my job to forecast for future seasons, only to interpret current season looks for individuals. I have caved though, with #NYFW trending massively and London Fashion Week only days away I thought I would just post a couple of images that have caught my eye so far.

Rachel Zoe Ready-To-Wear is definitely a look I will go for.

Fur featured with Peter Som too.

Marc Jacobs was really loved by stylists and much blogged about.

I can see elements that will filter down, described as subversive fairytale, I see Edwardian/Victorian influences.
