New York fashion week has left my mind full of ‘public school chic’ and plaid, I am looking forward to seeing what London has for us this week.
I have set an alert for Holly Fulton’s show tomorrow. Her current season is amazing, not that anyone in England can wear it right now with this awful weather!
Lovely light, casual yet ladylike, I wish it would stop raining!
On Saturday I took my old man to Bicester Village for a little retail action. I was desperate to at last see the Design Collective pop-up shop that is there until May 9th. It was great with two designers standing out for me, Holly Fulton and Preen. I saw the now iconic Holly Fulton take on print, and it is lovely.
However with the price tag in the £300’s and up I felt the quality wasn’t what I would expect.
But Preen, well I feel like a prize idiot for not picking something up. I was in that pre-brunch tetchy stage and thought I could find better stuff in Selfridges the next day. I will have to take another trip in the hope the stock hasn’t sold out.
The prices were a much more palatable £160- £300 and a jacket which caught my eye was only £162. That’s High Street prices!
Here are some more images of loveliness to take inspiration from.
Whilst I am waiting for my opportunity to head up the M40, I will nip out and get this…..
Should look fab with the Preen jacket (fingers crossed).
Which would you do to work the African inspired trend?
The British Design Collective is in it’s third year at Bicester Village. The Pop-up opens to the public today until May 9th. Alexa Chung spokesperson for the British Design Collective was at Bicester Village yesterday as it opened to the fashion press and insiders for an exclusive preview. This six week event will showcase some very exciting designers including Jonathan Saunders, Peter Pilotto, Holly Fulton, Bella Freud, Hermione de Paula, Preen, Osman, as well as footwear from Nicholas Kirkwood, and jewellery from Mawi and Erickson Beamon.
Here is a peak at the Spring/Summer collections to whet our appetite for some of that retail action.
This year for the first time a menswear Pop-up will open on May 16th, lets see if I can get my old man over there!
We expect fab prints from Katrantzou and I am sure I saw a typewriter print on one of the dresses, but it was the shapes that I loved most today.
Holly Fulton was full on colour popping prints and lovely lean silhouettes.
