Well I have not been present for New York Fashion Week but I have seen some amazing things through the wonder of the internet and Vogue. While the fashion press seem to be focusing on Victoria Beckham and wait to see what her more youthful collection Victoria Victoria Beckham will show today, here are the things that have caught my eye so far.
Diane Von Furstenburg.
My current favourite Band of Outsiders.
Take inspiration people!
Today I am worrying about the Summer Ball that I have to attend on Saturday. I was planning to dress like a middle aged version of Alexa Chung however the Chanel Couture Paris show this week has made me think of a more elegant and grown up look.
They are beautiful images, the models looking elegant but relaxed.
Let’s have a look at what items are available right now for me to channel the Chanel vibe.
Maybe this skirt from Coast at £160, I could tuck in a silk blouse and add a black belt?
This DVF dress is almost half price in the Matches sale £614.
I definitely cannot justifying spending that much even if it is a bargain!
What about this one from Ted Baker? It’s only £199.
Great colour. I can’t believe I have left it to the last minute, typical me!
Could it be the ‘new black’? I think so, I can’t think of a Spring/Summer trend blue can’t work with. Even the white dresses and suits seen on runways for this season would look great with a pair of blue heels, maybe in aqua….
Cat’s eye shaped glasses are being worn on all the most stylish of ladies right now, and adding a touch of blue makes you look less Dame Edna more Pixie Geldof!
Brilliant basic wear-forever type of dress in navy blue, instead of black, it’s less harsh on pale skin or ageing skin. Just add an accent colour to change the look.
I love this dress and if I had deeper pockets this would be my Summer Ball dress.
The pyjama trend looks more wearable here from Diane Von Furstenberg.
Look at these lovely fashion bloggers showing us just how to wear blue.
Shoes to be spotted in.
Then check out what Diane Von Furstenberg has created for this season. I can not believe how beautiful and chic this seasons collection is.
I love this dress for a spring time wedding. With the trend for printed tube dresses inspired by Peter Pilotto or Holly Fulton being so popular this makes a chic alternative, ensuring you don’t all turn up looking the same.
This is lovely too, pick out the blue with a fab clutch bag. I would probably wear flats during the daytime with this as it is quite short, you could always change into heels in the evening for when the partying begins.
